Forum: GratefulDead Subject: Who likes 5-5-77??? The show streaming and available for download on Deadhook is outstanding- probably 1st Gen

Sign up- go to links- the links say "listen"- but click on the initial link for the show that comesw up- when the next page loads you will usually see two sets and wording to the effect "click here to listen"- right on the link there is where you can click to download as you always do- a download manager helps ( I use several- the two best are "Igetter" and Dowload Accelerator Plus (AKA as DAP)

Enjoy- the 4-14-72 I just downloaded is also quite crispy- absolutely both are lossless

thanks for the concern, but I would never trade something I downloaded from the internet as it would mean I was trusting something sight unseen- cause it says it is so on myu web browser does not make something true- if a site claimed to be lossless I would still not download and trade that file- I have a pretty good ear- and that shoe I cannot imagine sounding anyt better than I heard it today

hey liam you can always check the source using trader's little helper.a great software that's free.the source at deadhook is from a betty cantor recording commonly know as betty boards.all they did was convert the original lossless files shn or flac to a mp3 format to save space.just a lower bitrate than lossless.http://db.etree.org/shninfo_detail.php?shnid=8832 have nothing against mp3 just against trading mp3.lots of folks took personal time in keeping to the original source and should be kept that way.for personal pleasure knock yourself out with mp3 though i prefer lossless.i have a nice stereo system and folks are stunned to the difference between a mp3 file and lossless file.so download trader's little helper if your ever concern about the source.take it easy liam by the way playing 12-27-81 you may enjoy it.http://www.archive.org/details/gd81-12-27.sbd.clugston.9733.sbeok.shnf
